Michael "MP" Peterson (24 September 1952 – 29 March 2012)
As a kid growing up in Coolangatta, Kirra, and Tweed, M.P. was a mythical surfing character who had lived and surfed those very shores. I remember hearing that he hand made every board he rode (something that the over saturated commercial surfers could learn from today) Another story I remember from the school playground is the one that he was involved in a 13 car police chase from Coolangatta to Brisbane over drug charges and did time in Bogga Rd. prison, all before being diagnosed with schizophrenia.

The Photo Department does it again!

No warning, no email, no considerations made.....In November of 2009 I asked for the bulbs (4) in this machine to be replaced (they have to be ordered), as I needed to use it make large mural prints. Obviously it wasn't fixed, I have been waiting since then, and I imagine the tech staff have forgotten of my request and said "no one uses this anymore" so they chucked it, cut the timer cable, gutted the electronics, and dumped it in the sculpture area for scrap. I asked them if it at least worked now, and all I got was a shrug for an answer.
Anyone know of a university that has a 8x10 horizontal mural printer where I can complete my PhD? Looks like I need to move.
